Switch input
« on: August 18, 2011, 04:13:15 pm »
Hello,

I'm looking for a solution to switch from input where the silence is detected to an other input preferably on the same audio card.

Situation:

input 1 should be monitored (wav channel / input on my soundcard) when the programm detects the silence, it should activate or open my line in channel / input from the same soundcard and visa versa when sound on input 1 (wav channel / input) returns.

regards,

Arkadas

Currently this is possible running an external application which is able to do this job. It may be an utility that provides command line options. However we do not know any. Built-in Windows volume control is a piece of junk that does not support sound profiles and does not provide any possibility to switch the inputs.

Finally I haven't found any suitable application so I have created a simple one. Check http://pira.cz/eng/setmixer.htm. With this small utility you should be able to switch sound card inputs easily. Any feedback is welcome.

Hello, I want to use the Silence Detector program to monitor a remote streaming input, but I only see how to set it up to monitor the record input. I want to know when I have lost my streaming feed by monitoring the Playback wav. Can Setmixer help me do this?
Thanks in advance

OK I am reading the /? help notes but not quite understanding the syntax needed to map  _wave  to   _line so that Silence Detector is receiving/monitoring audio from the streaming playback
is it  /s:0:0::1:0
/s:0:_wave::1:_line
or?

Dear Sir, this is the Setmixer syntax, not the Silence Detector. Please follow the software purpose description.  ;)
Install the Silence Detector and read the help by clicking on Help button in Setup.
