RadioText question?
« on: January 18, 2024, 10:44:37 am »
Hi,
I used to have a PIRA 132 encoder which generated Radiotext by reading a page on our website that had the now playing info. This was great because there was no PC required - the PIRA was set up and read the data on its own.

The 132 was damaged and I now need to get the RDS backup and running again....

Are there any of the PIRAs now that will allow me to do this as I cant get my hands on a 132.
I cant use UECP or Serial, it has to be a URL.....

Thanks

Jan

Such function is not available in current encoders as it has been implemented directly to the Magic RDS 4 control software. If you can read URL on the site, you can usually realize TCP connection to the Magic RDS as well.

Pros:
Allows to define exceptions and other rules, based on the text content
Only single configuration for all encoders in the network
The web page size is no longer limited
Supports HTTPS as well
Supports RT+

Cons:
The Magic RDS 4 must still run, on any PC
