It is unlikely that aging has such effect on the P332. With current firmware no need for manual reset has been reported. Please check the firmware version and whether the Connection Timeout is enabled. There are several levels of guarding mechanism built-in, supported by hardware-based watchdog, and the device should be able to recover the operation itself, whatever happens in the network.
Back to your question, the P332 was unique, as it has been originally developed on demand, for a national broadcasting operator. No direct equivalent exists for this device. On the other hand, it is always replaceable by the P164's + Magic RDS 4 centralised control. This solution brings further benefits for stations with more than a single transmitter, as it still keeps single input for the data, single administration point, and the entire network requires only single public IP address (for the Magic RDS 4 PC).
