mrds1322 group %
« on: February 16, 2022, 01:22:32 pm »
Hello, is there a possibility to change the percentage of groups, increase the number of transfers of one and decrease the transfers of the other?

This IC generates only groups 0A and 2A. This group sequence is fixed to 0A 0A 0A 0A 2A which is optimal for typical use.
If User Defined Group 1 is set, the group sequence is fixed to 0A 0A 0A 0A 2A UDG1.
If Radiotext is disabled, the 2A groups disappear from the group sequence.
No other method is available for this IC for controlling the group sequence.

Other groups may be entered by external application. In such a case, the external application controls the group rate as well.

I use MagicRDS 4 and add RT+ and CT through it. Apparently, the number of groups in this software is also automatically adjusted and does not have manual settings.

That's true. The software encoders provide fixed group rates which are optimal for common use or which are given by standards. The setting option would not bring any functional benefit.

That's what I thought, but just in case, I clarified it. Thank you.

Good day.
Is it possible to change the group sequence 0A 0A 2A 2A 2A using mrdsio.dll?

This device does not support user defined group sequence. The only way is to generate the RDS groups 2A completely by an external application.

I have too much time changing the radio text - 30-60 sec. How to reduce it?

With the group sequence "0A 0A 0A 0A 2A" entire RT is sent out within 7 seconds.

Thus the delay arises somewhere else in the chain. It may be a delay caused by broadcast automation, bad reception, bad RDS level setting or bad receiver.

Probably. But 7 seconds is also not enough.
Thank you

As I understand it, the sequence is specified in the firmware. Can you change the firmware? (0A, 0A, 2A,2A
or 0A,0A,2A,2A,2A). It seems to me that this sequence is more suitable for RT radio. :(

The RT repetition rate in this device is very close to the recommendations from the original EN50067 standard, to create best balance between different RDS services.

For customized solution, please consider our offer of advanced RDS devices with support of user defined group sequence, dynamic group sequence and much more.
