P275E FM Monitor+ (audio logging)
« on: Yesterday at 12:29:53 pm »
Hi Yan. I’m looking for monitoring devices for my network of transmitters. Your device caught my interest. I’ve gone through the manual, but I have a question: am I correct in understanding that it’s not possible to set up continuous audio recording, or is there actually a way to do it?

It is a measuring and monitoring device. It could potentially be used for audio recording as well (depending on the requirements), but such a function is completely outside its original purpose and it's not supported by current software, so I would recommend using a device specifically designed for that task. Even some consumer electronics devices are capable of this.

From the perspective of the technical department, I want to stay informed about all signal parameters and be aware if anything happens—which is why I’m considering this analyzer. However, local regulations require me to keep an audio recording of the broadcast, which is why I asked the question.

Yes, I understand that well. Broadcasters in many countries have this obligation. However, it is not tied to a specific transmitter, but rather to the program as a whole; consequently, the signal can be recorded directly from the studio. Our Magic RDS 4 software can do this too, but there are also many other programs and devices available.

We need a recording specifically from the individual transmitter. It can be recorded locally, or, alternatively, the received feed can be streamed back to the studio for recording there.
