The Text Conditions is a general purpose tool whose job is to perform predefined action, based on occurence of keywords or expressions in the Source text.
For example, it may change some parameter or drive some RDS function depending on the text content delivered by the broadcast automation.

Since existing Output to Radiotext usually contains a sequence of several text Sources, the first step for getting the Text Conditions working is to add a new Output specially for the Text Conditions. That Output will contain only the desired Source, without affecting the result by other Sources.

Finally, we can configure the Text Conditions:

On the picture, the 'Expires' parameter is dynamically changed depending on the text content. For a song name, which contains the string " - ", the maximum display time is limited to 180 seconds. For other programme blocks, the maximum display time is 1200 seconds. This setup is useful if the broadcast automation system does not attach a text to each broadcast item, to avoid displaying of outtimed text messages but providing enough of the display time.

Another example of use (not showed on the pictures) is dynamic PTY:
If "news" phrase is found, send connection:"*" command:"PTY=1"
etc.
