That's good to hear a solution always exists. :-)

I hope that applies to my issue, which is similar...

Would be nice if MagicRDS would read files that are text but with an extension other than .txt....  like .LTX in my case.

Already tried a rename, only changing the extension to .txt and it was then readable.

Can't practically do that every time the current playing item changes, unless you know of a solution that can copy the current dated file to another one titled RDS.txt maybe?  It would need to rotate out once it reaches a certain size, of course, but is there a solution that would do this?

Example of dated files : 011415.ltx

I understand  depending how MagicRDS is coded it may or may not be easy to change the file selection filter to accept different extensions...

Still, I can hope.

I talked this station into the Pira32, now it would be nice if it would actually update the current song and artist...

Everything else works mostly flawlessly, except some of scrolled text (mode 2) fails to show on Stereos.  PS always shows as it should.  PI also always works right.
I assume that is because those details are sent more often.

Thanks for the good product and support

Although the Magic RDS does not support the XML explicitly, it is usually possible to find the information required using existing text processing tools it the XML structure. It would be nice if you can place an example of the XML output here or send it via email. A solution always exists.

Hi, Jan,

I was wondering if the PIRA32 Magic RDS software would likely to be updated to except XML file format as our
Studio Dalet system only puts out track and title details in an XML file,

I have the Magic software running fine on server 2008 using TCP/port access to the remote location where the PIRA32 is located and using a LAN to TTL/Serial conversion. All works great ! and currently have setup the Magic RDS software to look for any txt file updates on the desktop, its just this dilemma with conversion of the XML file format ... any thoughts on a likely update Jan ?

Thanks  :)
