I haven't noticed such problems on my PC.
You probably need to fill smtp.gmail.com:587 (i.e. including the port number)

Emails and test emails have been working fine for years. A couple of weeks ago I noticed I wasn't getting alerts when the silence detector is triggered.

I'm using google SMTP and it is possibly on thier end because I use the silence detector on two separate remote clients, and neither of them now work.

Any Ideas?
