I understand Jan. That feature would be an excellent improvement for the future.

Time sync is implemented in the middleware (Magic RDS 4). In Overview - Extensions, enable General - Time Synchronization. NTP is not supported at this time.

About synchronizing the time on the encoder to be able to activate CT Group 4. Is there any possibility for the P164 encoder to have the time updated via NTP without needing to sync with a PC?

It seems to me the time sync is working normally but it is not indicated on the website. The firmware is quite old, try to update:

Such issue has never been reported yet (since 2013).
In the website go to Status - Version and post the complete version listing. Also go to Tools - Terminal and type SETLAN and confirm by Enter. Post the returned string.

If you've used Magic RDS 4 version 4.1.8 for the LAN settings setup, please update to the latest version here: http://pira.cz/rds/magicrds/MagicRDS_Setup.exe
The version 4.1.8 may corrupt LAN settings in the encoder.

I am trying to set a P132 to use NTP time setting, but even though I have it enabled in the LAN settings, the Status page shows it as not enabled (see screenshots). I have reset the device since setting the NTP server and have tried several known-good servers, but none will take effect.

What am I doing wrong?
