Sounds like you have a need for multiple instances of the SD, just launch as many as you need and configure them as you did with the existing SD, works great!

Thank you for answering my question about launching one or more programs for Alarm and Return Tasks. I have a couple of followup questions, the answers would go a long way towards helping me understand how SD handles Tasks. (1), in the case of two Tasks in Open/Play 1, is it accurate to say that SD will do the first Open/Play Task, wait for it to return, and then move the second Task? (2) What if there is one Task in Open/Play 1, and a second Task in Open/Play 2 — how does SD process those? Both at the same time, or sequentially?

Thank you for your help. There doesn't seem to be an example for a batch file to launch two or more programs that I can find in the program's Help, and the online reference at https://pira.cz/show.asp?art=silence doesn't go into it very deeply. Is there a Windows batch files help that I am not seeing?

I would recommend to put the programs to be executed into a single .bat file for each case. In the batch file you can insert as many lines as you want and you can also specify whether to wait the program to terminate or not, before executing next line. See the Windows batch files reference for details.

Hello, we have been using the Pira.cz Silence Detector at our community radio station for many years. It is a great little program. On Alarm, we have a program in Open/Play 1, and we have a Return Task in Open/Play. They work perfectly. Today we want to add two additional tasks, a second Alarm Task, and a second Return Task. This will be TWO Alarm Tasks and TWO Return Tasks.

On Alarm the SD must now launch two programs (an .exe and a .bat). Can I put BOTH programs in Open/Play 1? File 1: and File 2: ? Will it launch them at the same time (or close to it) or will it wait for the File 1: program to close before it launches the File 2: program?

Also, on Return we need TWO Tasks, but there is only one Open/Play option. Again, can I put one program as File 1: and the second as File 2: ? It will do both of them?

Thank you!
