If only one of the options were correct, the manufacturer would not give a choice of the others. In other words, your IT administrator should choose appropriate option based on the circumstances.

As a general rule, UDP should not be used. The TCP server side is the side which is accessible via host name or IPv4 address. The client side may be anywhere and no port forwarding is required for it. The connection diagram is client -> server.

If more RDS encoders are present in the network, they should be configured as clients, the Magic RDS as server.

So I am setting up a pira CZ RDS for the first time.  So the encoder is at the transmitter site.  We have an internet connection and have some port forwarding set up. I am wondering how I should set yup the encoder should it be a UDP connection or TCP or Both and as a server or client. I could use some help.
