Since this encoder model has been used for years without reporting such issue, I would recommend to check the other side  :)
Such issue may happen if you read only single character on the RX buffer event.

An equivalent read operation can be performed by a TCP terminal application, obviously no character is getting lost when you read the RT.

Hello,

We have just started using the P164 RDS encoder.  I have some simple Python code as a TCP client to send an RT1 string over the Ethernet interface.  That works fine, and I get a '+' in the reply.  But if I read the RT1 back, I seem to lose a few characters in the reply string, at random locations. Any suggestions why this is happening?
