Run Multiple Instances of piraside.exe
Firstly, thank you for writing such a great program and for offering it freely! I'm enjoying using it!
Secondly, I've added a second sound card to my computer, and I've configured one audio player to play through card one and the other player to play a different source through card two.
I've installed Piraside twice, with differently named folders, so that I can execute the program twice and have two seperate instances running. I've configured one instance for sound card one, and it works fine. However, the other instance of piraside.exe, which is configured for card two, will not show any audio playing, even though I can plug speakers into card two and hear its audio seperately. For some reason the second instance of piraside just wont respond to that card's audio, even though that card is playing successfully and it is selected properly in that instance of piraside.
Do I need to edit something in the .ini file to make this work?
My goal is to eventually have four soundcards, playing four different things, being monitored by four unique instances of piraside.exe, so that I can be notified if any of those streams go silent.
I'd appreciate if you'd let me know what I'm doing wrong.
Thanks,

Re: Run Multiple Instances of piraside.exe
It was already answered here probably more times. If you open your sound card mixer (recording options), you may set Stereo output, Mixer output or similar option to monitor the sound that you playing on the PC.

Run Multiple Instances of piraside.exe
I have already done that, but regardless of how I set the second instance of pirasied, and how I set the second sound card, it still isn't recognized. Both audios send up getting mixed and to the first instance of piraside, even though audio one is going to soundcard one, and audio two is going to soundcard two.
Maybe I'm not explaining this well enough. Anyone else have this issue?

Re: Run Multiple Instances of piraside.exe
What does it mean exactly "it still isn't recognized"? Some error message is showed? Are the dB levels changing or stay at fixed values? If they are changing, the soundcard is accessed right and the problem is in the soundcard mixer or driver.

Run Multiple Instances of piraside.exe
No error message is shown. But, no levels come up either. I believe it was an issue with the sound card driver/windows. I've stopped trying to do it with multiple sound cards.

Run Multiple Instances of piraside.exe
I finally found a solution that solves my problem and lets me run multiple instances of piraside.exe to monitor multiple independent audio sources!
It's called "Virtual Audio Cable", and it lets me create virtual "cables". Then I can use my player programs with each configured to send their audio to a different "cable". Then, I pick the "cable" I want to monitor from piraside.exe in the soundcard drop-down list. Presto! I can monitor multiple sources with multiple instances of piraside.exe and do all of that from one computer!
I hope this is helpful to other folks. The trial version of Virtual Audio Cable is free, and the full version is $30. While that's a decent chunk of money (at least on my budget), it allows me to eliminate the need for 3 extra computers (or more... it's not just limited to 3). So, with "Virtual Audio Cable" and the awesome Silence Sensor from Jan, I can save my radio station money on computers and electricity!
If others would like full instructions as to how I did what I described, I can write them up as a PDF file and send it to Jan. Let me know if there's any interest.
Cheers,
