RDS remote
Hi. I did use a computer at the transmitter room, located in the mast of my radio. The RDS software was running in that computer. I use Microsoft remote desktop, to control the computer from anyware in the world. Then you don't need any other software. If you don't think this is secure, there is many other remote software like VNC. It's easy to defind that only one IP or MAC adress is allowed to access. For example one computer, like my own at my office, and then I remote the office computer to remote the computer in the mast.
Now today, I donīt have any computer at all, because I use a hardware player, Barix X-streamer, to feed the transmitter, and a ethernet to V-24 converter, connected to the RDS. This converter use similar software to redirect the com port. I am glad I don't have to use a unstable Microsoft produkt like a pc running Xp or similar OS. This is rock stable, and both units is easy controlled via my browser.
