Radiotext centering
« on: September 30, 2022, 05:50:04 am »
I've noticed that FMB80 RDS Encoder with "Center" the Radio Text on certain Cars, but not all encoders. Is there a command I (or format) I can use to get the P164 to center the text?

The Radiotext cannot be centered by the encoder because this would cause problems with reading on all receivers with segment LCD display - a big delay before all spaces roll off and the text appears.
Some car radios center the Radiotext and some not. This varies model to model. The RDS standard itself does not contain any screen layout settings. There's a "Short RT" option available in our encoders, which may help some receivers to process the text better, as it marks the text end in the 64-character window.

Maybe you meant Dynamic PS centering, which is supported by our RDS encoders.

In this particular case I'm referring to Radio Text. On my Equinox I see some RadioText  Messages are centered and others are now.

As to the PS Text where can the centering function be found for that?
