MPX spurious signal at 32Khz?
« on: June 17, 2018, 01:08:53 pm »
Hi Jan,

Running the latest firmware in the P275 & FMscope 1.5 rev 20.

I notice that there is a strange spurious noise peak (spike) at 32Khz in the MPX spectrum display.
The same spike is present on all stations, regardless of whether they are transmitting Mono or stereo.

Is this a hardware or software issue?

I'm not too concerned about this as long as it i not effecting measurements or demodulated audio.

Regards,
Richard

There's no known issue of that kind. Most probably this is caused by power supply. The dynamic range of the MPX FFT was extended down to -70 dB in the latest version so this may be the reason why you did not see that before. Such small spurious have no effect on anything.
