Title: RDS problem US or Europe standard
Post by: Germaine on June 27, 2011, 02:37:24 pm
I just bought the Pira32 for the jazler automation software. I have a problem with it. People that bought their radio in Europe with rds compatibility receives the RDS, but radio's bought in the USA doesn't receive them. Can you help me on this please? We mostly use USA radios. If its compatible for both. That would be great. Please advice.

In a few words - this is impossible. There are no differences between RDS and RBDS standards that may cause this behavior. The PIRA32 works correctly with any receiver regardless of if this comes from USA, EU or any other destination.
Make sure your PI is not FFFF or does not begin with 0. Unfortunately it's not clear from your post if there's only some RDS service missing on the receivers or the RDS reception is not possible. It may be for example due to differences in PTY interpretation, US channel spacing (for example your station is on 91.4 but the some US receivers may tune only 91.3 or 91.5, or maybe the receivers do not contain RDS decoder at all.
