Thank you.  That is the problem...The PC cannot communicate with the automation machine.  It used to, but not now.  Curious.

As a suggestion: you might want to trap this error and have Magic RDS application pop up a message window rather that have the program lockup.

Thank you for your help.

You're periodically reading a text from shared network drive (External text source 1). Make sure that the network path is valid and all Windows permissions are well configured for this. The Windows file sharing feature is a bit shifty. Personally, I would recommend to run a simple http or ftp server on the remote PC rather than using the Windows file sharing feature.

This cannot be tracked without knowing particular services and functions you're using or running from the application.

In that case please follow these steps:
  • Select File / Backup / Application Settings
  • Select any suitable folder, fill the backup name, for example "backup"
  • Click on Save and send us the files "backup.ini" and "backup.rds" to our email.
If the application does not allow to enter the backup function, go directly to the application data folder and collect the file magicrds.ini and all *.rds files. The application data folder is usually placed in C:\Users\<username>\AppData\Local\Magic RDS\

Thank you.

Hello.

Using Magic RDS 3.8 which I installed when version 3.7 stopped running. OS is Windows 10.

3.8 would not run at all until I ran Windows compatibility troubleshooter.  After that, Magic application just halts after a couple of mouse clicks.

No such issue has been reported yet (we have more than 10,000 active installations). Please describe the problem and let us know the application version and which product you're using.

Has anyone had a similar issue where Magic RDS halts after the latest Windows 10 update?
