The P275 is backward compatible so if you add the P275 to any existing system based on the P175, nothing needs to be changed in the software. The FM Scope application supports all three versions (P75/P175/P275) so almost all new features will be accessible for the P75 and P175 as well. This information is probably sufficient for most applications.

In the background there are some minor changes in the protocol:
  • The commands *E, *D and *B are no longer implemented because the unit now supports only one operating mode which includes all three modes of the P175. The commands are still accepted but have no effect.
  • The P275 uses another format of raw data used for mpx scope and fft. For this reason it is recommended to use actual version of the FM Scope or FMIO.DLL.
  • There are some additional undocumented commands for memory access, factory adjusts etc. They have no sense for the user at now. Based on the user requests, the command set may be extended in future.

Hi,
is the new P275 serial protocol compatible with the legacy P175?
If yes, are there some new features implemented in the P275 version?
Best regards
