The server should be smtp.gmail.com:587
The 'from' field contains a domain different from the gmail.com. Gmail may not accept it.
In your gmail account settings, you must enable 'less secure' applications.
There may be firewall or antivirus issue.

Once configured correctly, the SD works with gmail.

Rather than using sticky gmail, it is recommended to use an email of your ISP (internet services provider) as there are not so many restrictions.

Kindly could anyone have a solution to such an error when doing a test mail. I am unable to send mail due to this error. The set up on email is as follows
   
    from: steven.awino@royalmedia.co.ke   ;this a customized gmail for our companyl.
    outgoing smtp server: smtp.gmail.com:465
    I have checked the authentification and SSL
    username: Steven Awino and set my password.
