This software works for me sending emails. I have to change the host name into its IP address for the email to be sent properly. The SSL checkbox, when checked, errors out my test message. I don't know why because the proper credentials are there.

The test button will prove if your email system/security software is working correctly, at least within the parameters of the SD software.

One thing I am having issues with is attachments. I am trying to attach the logfile. Whenever I enable this feature, the email message is not sent. I'm still trying to figure out why. I suspect it is because it is locked by the main program...that's an idea! I'll get back to the forum later.

The silence detector works with gmail, no problems of that kind have been reported. If you can't access any SMTP server, the problem is not in the silence detector. Some ISP's restrict access to public SMTP server, in that case use the SMTP server of your ISP.

Attached is a print screen of valid gmail settings that works correctly for me (tested 1 minute ago).

Unfortunately, I can't provide the login credentials due to security issues, but I've tried several different public SMTP servers using known, active logins and the software won't send messages with any of them.

The one we were using was smtp.gmail.com, and it worked up until sometime in December.

Are there other software silence detector solutions available?  This lack of email functionality has basically rendered the software useless for us.  Any ideas?

Solving the email problem can only be possible if you provide me complete login data so I can try it myself. Contact me on email.

Is it a public SMTP server that you are using?

We've always used the Silence Detector for sending emails when our radio station goes silent.  However, sometime during the last month emails have stopped working.  The following popup error message comes up when attempting to send emails:

"ERROR: 5.5.1 Unrecognized command. z7sm3878218obv.20"

Any ideas?  I've confirmed that all of the email setup data is correct (SMTP, etc.).

Also:  Because email stopped working, I am trying to set up an mp3 to play in the mean time.  However, the mp3 will not play with the "built-in mp3 player" turned on or off.  Any ideas on this?
