Hi Jan
Do you know when MagicRDS version 4.0.29 will be released please?

I think the comms between the P164 and the PC is not working even though I have bi-directional ticked.    (this may also explain why I just get a # response in the Terminal window)

I edited a .enc file to have 5 Text Messages and scheduled them to run at 1 minute intervals then 'restored' this to the P164.

Looking at the Group Analyzer within RDS Spy the RT messages were performed but if I 'Read' the Text Messages in the Device Setup  screen using MagicRDS then they are not shown on the GUI.

I will see if it works on the new version but let me know if you want me to beta test it before release.

The connection status is 'Connected' (and RDS Spy works fine)

The version 4.0.29 will be released this week.

Your connection works in unidirectional mode, maybe you're not connected at all. In the Overview, you can see the connection status.

Thanks Jan

I am running version 4.0.28 although if I check for updates it says that 'Your version 4.0.28 is already up to date' (and this is the version downloadable from the website).

I have also checked the connection and Bidirectional is ticked with a 2000ms timeout.

There's a bug (in versions prior to 4.0.29) which allows you to select the Backup option although your connection is configured as unidirectional, so any reply from the encoder is ignored.

Click on Edit connection and tick the Bidirectional checkbox.

I can't believe that this is a bug as it would have been noticed before now.

It is more like an issue with my connectivity as I have just discovered that if I connect through USB I get expected replies using the terminal within MagicRDS4 but if I connect through LAN all responses are    #

It may be my system but if I perform a backup of the P164 config whilst connected using the USB port then all the details are recorded BUT if I do the same thing whilst connected using the LAN port then I only get the fields but no data.

This is part of the .enc file saved using the LAN connection ....

... and the same saved using the USB connection ...

Is this a bug or something strange in my config (and if the latter then what might it be?)
