Our encoders and software do not restrict the broadcasters in the PTY choice, you may select any of the possible 32 options.

The way how this number is interpreted and showed to the listener is fully managed by the receiver.

You can select PTY code 26 for your hip-hop station. But current receivers still do not assign any program type for this code.

Is it possible to label more of the PTY codes that are suggested by the NRSC for RBDS? Or is there a way to do this myself? Looking at page 26 of the following:

Right now I have a hip-hop station I would like to use PTY code 26 but when I do it comes up as "unassigned".
