« on: March 26, 2013, 04:55:20 pm »
I have problem making the pcb for this device because images are with not suitable quality and size.
Can somebody give me a better pcb images for this transmitter or an altium (gerber) pcb design file.

Hello.
I have made the pcb for this device recently, now only component soldering remains.
I suggest you follow these steps :

1) copy the image into microsoft word, adjust size to 104 x 54 mm. Then flip the image horizontally.
2) take a print out of the image on to a propalcoate paper ( magazin paper). Use a laser printer for printing.
3) cut out the image from the paper, while leaving roughly 1 cm along the borders.
4) place the image on to a copper plated pcb board, previously well cleaned.
5) place an iron on the paper, with the hardest setting, apply pressure of upto 20 lb  and keep as such for 10 min.
By now the toner will b completely stuck to the board.

6) put the board ( alongwith paper) in water, and soak till all the paper becomes tender, and peels off. Repeat the process  untill only the toner remains.
7) check for errors if any.
8) dip the board in freshly prepared ferric chloride solution. The temo of solution to b around 50 deg celsius. Gently wave the solution to dissolve unwanted copper completely.
9) wash the pcb with ethyl alcohol or acetone to remove the toner ink completely.
ur pcb is ready. Drill and solder components.

cheers!

Thanks for the answer Mohsin Bashir. I''ll try this method. Was not the size 109x54? You wrote 104x54?

What about gerber viewer? For example Pentalogix ViewMate that is free.

Hello Jan,

I could not get pic16f627a in the market.
a friend of mine gave me pic16f628a instead.
apparently, as i could see from internet, these two differ inly in their ROM size, or might be very different, i dnt kniw.
I want you to please help me with this... will the asm file work for the 628a version by just including the header file of 628a?

furthermore, do the transmitter performance characteristics allow a tolerance of 10% for the components?

Thanks in advance for your time, and sorry, if i have bothered you :)

Where are you from? You can order it directly from microchip.

Thanks for the reply, bro :)
I am from jammu and kashmir, india.
I. tried a lot to find it, but couldn't.  I guess the shipping charges on online buying from microchip will render the overall price of the mcu unwarranted.
I wanted to know if the code written for pic16f627a is compatible with pic16f628a with minor modification or not. and if yes, which modification.

Hello Jan

I have made some modification with your old 1W PLL transmitter and 5W PLL transmitter. I have put them together, and made a new PCB. So if you are intrested so can I send you this in a Gerber format.
Best Regards/
Ronny

Oh God bless you, Ronny :)
u can't imagine the dilemma I m in... I had made a xtal controlled tx, which eventually didn't work, and I couldn't troubleshoot.
so I changed the design and have now adopted this pll ckt. now all hopes are pinned on this circuit. hope it works.
