Thank you, your information really helped, where was no any single hang up in a month, after enabling both functions.

The solution is simple. These devices are designed for continuous 24/7/365 operation. They can operate for years without need of any manual action, not even in case of dropped TCP connection. Please open the pdf documentation https://pira.cz/rds/p164man.pdf for information about how to configure the Ethernet port (section 6.3 Ethernet Connection and section 10.3 Installation Essential Checklist).

In short, you need to enable the 'Inactivity timeout' function or the 'Ethernet fail-safe monitor' function or both. They are disabled by default. The device installation is not finished until at least one function is enabled.

Hello, we have purchased two RDS P164s. Both devices have problems with TCP/IP to RS232 adapters, they hang after a period of operation. Adapters running in TCP Server mode. After power cycling, the problem disappears for a while. Has anyone encountered such a problem? How can this be solved?
