Here's how to configure the BSI Simian in order to send basic RT and RT+ data to our RDS encoders which support X-Command

  • On the RDS encoder, configure an Ethernet port (TCP protocol, encoder is a server). The IP address and TCP port may differ from the picture below.
    Alternatively, you may use the Magic RDS 4 and the feature called virtual ports/bridges.
  • Stop the Simian playback, go to Tools - Program Options - Metadata
  • Download the X-Command template below, save to your disk and fill the path to the file in the Template File Name box
  • Fill the TCP connection parameters according to step 1. The IP address is address of the encoder or 127.0.0.1 if the Magic RDS 4 is used


Successfully tested with Simian 2.3.4.
